Vanderbilt Woman’s Club Scholarship Recipient Wins NEXT Awards
Vanderbilt Woman’s Club two-time scholarship recipient Ravi Patel has won top spots in the recently-held NEXT Awards sponsored by the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce and the Entrepreneur Center.
The award recognizes businesses and entrepreneurs in various business sectors including sustainability and social enterprise. Ravi took top place in this category as CEO and co-founder of The Nashville Mobile Market, a social enterprise solution aimed at creating access to healthy, affordable food for communities in Nashville and Davidson county with little or no access to full service grocery stores.
For his efforts, the fourth year Vanderbilt medical student also took top place in the Entrepreneur of the Year Youth category. In a recent article about him, Ravi said, “Entrepreneurs are innovative, transformational, and socially-motivated leaders, not limited by professional education or socioeconomic class.”
Vanderbilt Woman’s Club board member Anne Plummer said, “I remember when Ravi received our scholarship two years in a row. He is an extraordinary young man. I know that he will change many lives in his career.”
Congratulations to Ravi—Vanderbilt Woman’s Club is proud to have played a small part in your success!
