Neely Auditorium
is the home of Vanderbilt University Theatre. It is a black box
theatre located on Alumni Lawn at the center of main campus that
seats approximately 300 in its maximum seating configuration.
The actual seating capacity of a particular show, however varies
from 200-300. Neely has been a theatre since 1976, when it was
transformed from a chapel into its current state.
In addition
to being the home of VUT, Neely also houses most of the classes
taught in the Department of Theatre. Most classes are taught
in the main space, although some take place in the design room
on the second floor, which also houses the offices of the faculty.
