CLASS SIZE: Classes are limited to 8 teens. . .for a 1:4 student/student ratio.

INFO:

Gain essential computer skills that will last long after the summer ends! This will be a “hands on” class where teens will pop off the cover of a desk top computer and have a look around to learn what the parts of the computer are and how they work.

Teens will also learn some basic computer care and computer maintenance.  Learn to perform a few simple clean up procedures and use a couple of maintenance utilities to make a big difference in how a computer performs. Reduce the number of freeze-ups, the number of fatal errors, and the number of reboots a computer has.  A little preventive maintenance and proper computer care can increase the overall speed and efficiency of a computer.

Upon completion of the class, each student will receive a good refurbished computer system with a minimum of Intel Pentium 4 processor, 256 MB RAM, a network card, a keyboard, a mouse, and a monitor . . . .given as a FREE gift to all participants that complete the workshop.   (Teens will pay for the workshop, but the computer system is a free gift upon completion of the workshop.) Each computer is fully running with Windows operating system and all the necessary software to get started.   The computer will also be pre-loaded with productivity software, tools, and resources.

PROFESSIONAL STAFF

Patsy Partin, Director of the Virtual School, and Mike Majett, Media Specialist for the Virtual School, will teach and provide individual assistance.  Teens will be supervised at all times during the class.

CLASSROOM FACILITIES

Each student will have access during the class to a computer that they will take home at the end of the class.  Classes are limited to 8 teens. . .for a 1:4 student/student ratio.
