Virtual School

When it began in 1991 Vanderbilt Virtual School was a leader in using real-time, interactive video conferencing and Internet technology to build virtual learning communities – enhancing K-12 curriculums and teacher professional development across the state of Tennessee. More than 30,000 teachers had their first hands-on experience with the Internet through the Vanderbilt Virtual School.

Since that time, technological advances have made educational opportunities more widely available and accessible than ever before. In light of this, Vanderbilt Virtual School has made the decision to cease operations and strategically realign resources with the knowledge that the work we started will continue – that students' and teachers' learning can extend beyond a classroom's four walls and as far as they wish to go.

We greatly appreciate all of the partnerships we have formed over the years and want to thank everyone who made this effort possible.
