  • Career Conversations: Students will meet with professionals in the top career fields. Presenters will discuss their education and preparation for their career, day to day responsibilities, and answer questions posed by middle school and high school students. Tuesdays, September 20, 2005 - December 13, 2005.
  • Witnesses and Voices of the Holocaust: Holocaust survivors and witnesses who painfully remember the events of the Holocaust will present videoconferences to middle and high school students. Wednesdays, November 2-December 7, 2005.
  • Tales and Legends: Each of our storytellers is a master of the art. Come, bring your 3rd-7th graders, and experience the wealth of history and tradition, and the humor and magic of these great stories! Thursdays, September 22-October 27.
  • Breaking Boundaries with Great Explorers: Join world experts as they share their findings from far-away worlds. These Vanderbilt professors will share tales, artifacts and slides with middle and high school students. Wednesdays, September 21-October 26.
  • Holiday Storytelling: Once Upon a Time and long, long before there were movies, television, radios, or even books, there were storytellers! The holidays are the perfect
time to rekindle this tradition of storytelling. Gifted storytellers, using
proven storytelling techniques, will draw even your most reluctant readers
into a tale during our Holiday Storytelling videoconference series.

Storytelling supports listening, vocabulary, prediction, sequencing, and
memory skills. It teaches students about the use of language, narrative
form, and values. Storytelling sparks creativity. These storytelling
videoconferences will incorporate oral stories into your holiday-time
curriculum as the storytellers delight and charm your students.

‘Tis the season  to capture the holiday spirit by sharing with your students
the gift of stories that they'll appreciate for the rest of their lives.
Light up this holiday season with storytelling!
