Dell Student Technology Leadership Teams
2003-2004 School Year

In its third year, the Dell STL team project reflects the commitment of the Dell Corporation and Vanderbilt University to the middle and high school students in the Nashville area.

In the High Schools:
Each STL team consists of students interested in technology. The team is mentored by a member of the school's faculty. The STL team develops a technology project in one of the following areas:

  • Community involvement through partnership with a local non-profit organization
  • A school-wide project benefiting all members of the school
  • Enhancement of learning activities through technology integration

Throughout the school year, the STL teams will be supported by the Virtual School of Vanderbilt University. The Virtual School will oversee all STL Teams, assisting with project management, team development and preparation for the spring Showcase/Competition. Teams may be formed at any middle or high school, whether public or private.

In the spring of 2004, the STL teams will come together at Vanderbilt University to present their projects.  A panel of judges from the community will select the most outstanding project.  The winning high school team will receive the Dell Wireless Lab for their school.

What About Middle Schools?

Middle Schools may form an STL team. At the year-end competition, the winning team will receive Six Dell desktop computers for the use of the team.
