| Program Description |
|
The vastness of Brazil as the fifth-largest
country in the world is spotlighted as Brazil encompasses half of
all the land of South America and one-third of all the land of Latin
America. From the hovels of Sao Paulo to the palaces of Rio de
Janeiro, Brazil has a rich cultural mix with many facets, including
its racial melting pot (which often startles foreign visitors),
economic challenges (Brazil remains a rich country full of poor
people), and its carnival culture. Brazilians still have plenty to
worry about-- rainforest depletion, a high rate of HIV/AIDS
infection, and the most unequal distribution of wealth of any
country in the world. |
