<title>Vanderbilt sends more students to DAAD's Research Internships in Science and Engineering Program than any other university</title>
<link>http://www.vanderbilt.edu/vio/news/2011/daad-vu-sends-more-students.php</link>
<description>Every summer, Vanderbilt students go out into the world to work summer jobs and internships. A select few go to Germany to participate in the German Academic Exchange Service's (DAAD) Research Internships in Science and Engineering (RISE) program. In summer 2010, Vanderbilt sent nine students to participate in the RISE program - more than any other university in the United States. Vanderbilt students studying Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, and Physics went to universities in Berlin, Leipzig, Stuttgart, and other cities, where they aided doctoral students with research. In the process, they gained both academic knowledge and practical skills. The program represents a win-win situation for both visiting students and the doctoral candidates. </description>
