All Vanderbilt faculty, staff, researchers and students are offered access to the healthcare facilities at Vanderbilt and to those offered by providers elsewhere. Students are required to carry a healthcare insurance policy. Individuals employed by the University will be offered health insurance once eligibility requirements are met. More information can be obtained from Human Resources Health and Wellness.
HEALTH INSURANCE AND BENEFITS
Vanderbilt provides a comprehensive benefits package that includes "core coverage" and "voluntary coverage." Coverage varies based on several factors. Visit the Benefits site for more detail.
Students are also required to carry a health insurance policy that meets basic requirements. More information on the policy requirements is provided by Student Health.

Vanderbilt and Nashville are generally safe places with low rates of violent crime. However, the safety of the Vanderbilt community is important to all of us, and several campus and community departments are dedicated to ensuring the safety of the campus and surrounding area. Being aware of one's surroundings, belongings, and feelings is important.
