Opening
- The opening of the Center was marked by the visit of a Vanderbilt delegation led by Provost Richard McCarty to the two universities. Opening activities featured lectures on intangible culture heritage, panel discussion on U.S. and Chinese education, and showcased American and Chinese performing arts by local artists and students from the two universities and local schools, with a special appearance of Nashville singer-songwriter Abigail Washburn.
