Student travel is restricted to the following countries/regions:

• All countries currently under a U.S. Department of State Travel Warning*, listed here.

• Cuba: Faculty, staff and students who plan to travel to Cuba should contact VIO.  

Students who wish to travel to a country included on the restricted travel site list referenced above must submit a “Request for Exception to Travel” to the Study Abroad Risk Assessment Committee (SARAC) for review.   Please see the Student International Travel Policy for details and forms. 

*Please note:  If you are traveling to Mexico or Israel, which are currently included on the Travel Warning list, please complete the individual or group information form and return to VIO as you may be allowed to submit an abbreviated request to SARAC.

Faculty and staff planning to lead a group of students to a country on the restricted regions list must also request exception from SARAC.  Please contact VIO for details and forms (ext. 2-3444).

Please note that locations may also be added to the list on an as-needed basis, should unexpected changes occur related to the level of risk in a country.
