Students engage in a myriad of international and multicultural programs and activities at Vanderbilt. The clinic is a project developed by Vanderbilt medical student brothers, Milton and Frederick Ochieng.
Vanderbilt boasts core partnerships with world-class research institutions all over the world, including University of Melbourne, Fudan University, and University of Cape Town.The Vanderbilt Institute for Global Health is committed to advancing health and development in the world's resource-limited regions. Peabody College of Education and Human Development, ranked #1 among graduate colleges of education by U.S. News & World Report, is home to undergraduate and graduate students from 32 countries.
The Vanderbilt School of Nursing has advanced practice nursing relationships in the United Kingdom, Sweden, Finland, and Japan. VUSN also provides opportunities fro stduents through relationships and work with the Pan American Health Organization, International Nursing Coalition for Mass Casualty Education, and the National Center for Emergency Preparedness, among others.
In response to a demand for employees with increased awareness of global affairs and to meet our students' desire for international experiences, the Owen Graduate School of Management has established formal exchange programs with over a dozen business schools on five continents.The English Language Center (ELC) at Vanderbilt provides excellent language instruction in a friendly, supportive atmosphere. Students from all over the world have been coming to the ELC since 1978. The center served 235 students from 32 countries last year.
Vanderbilt University is home to over 200 undergraduate students from 24 nations all over the world.
The Medical Emphasis Program provides Vanderbilt students opportunities to acquire specialized knowledge and experience working in one of nine focus areas, including Global Health, during the first two years of medical school. Last year, the School of Medicine sent students to 11 countries overseas.Over 700 undergraduate students studied abroad last year in nearly 30 countries and over 100 Vanderbilt-approved programs.
Twenty-four Vanderbilt Law students served in externships and placements relating to international law last summer in 12 countries.
The Blair School of Music and the Vanderbilt-in-France Center jointly host Vanderbilt Music Académie, an interdisciplinary music and French cultural program, each year. The Académie occurs during the weeks of Festival International d'Art Lyrique et de Musique in Aix-en-Provence.The Dean of Students Office plays host to a myriad of international and intercultural student organizations.
