"Quantum Dot Technology for Biological Applications"

Abstract. At Quantum Dot Corporation, we have developed a number of biological applications using highly-luminescent, nanometer-scale semiconductor nanocrystals, or quantum dots.  Innovations in the areas of inorganic and organic chemistry, as well as materials science were required to produce quantum dots that reliably met requirements for biological applications in labeling as well as encoding.  Several of these innovations, as well as examples of biological assays will be described.
