VINSE visits Pleasant View Elementary

On October 16 2012, TN-Score student Toshia Wrenn lead an outreach to teach 20 fourth grade students about cells and their organelles at Pleasant View Elementary in Cheatham County. The students discussed the differences between plant and animal cells and described the organelles that each of these cells contain. To reinforce what they had learned, students made edible "cells" by selecting the food items that had similar properties as the organelles and affixing them to their cookie cell using frosting as the cytoplasm.
