User Access Policy for the VINSE Core Laboratories
New users seeking access to VINSE core laboratory facilities and tools must complete a three-step process as follow:
New users are required to attend a 90-minute user orientation with the laboratory manager scheduled most Tuesdays at 10 AM in the SC 6217 VINSE conference room. Reservations are required and can be made via email here. Upon completion of the user orientation the user's access will be enabled via their VU ID card, or alternative credential provided by the laboratory manager.
All users must complete the Vanderbilt Environmental Health and Safety sponsored Chemical Safety and Environmental Protection Training, either in the beginning of the Fall or Spring semester of the year they joined Vanderbilt, or by attending one of the monthly training opportunities described here. Users are required to file a .pdf completion certificate with the laboratory manager within 30 days of completing the user orientation.
Users are authorized to use only those tools they have been trained to use. The laboratory manager will arrange for tool-specific training and enable online scheduling for that tool.
