Resources:
Since 1983, Vanderbilt has invested close to a
billion dollars in renovating and building campus facilities. In
the process, it added state-of-the-art buildings for psychology,
chemistry and music, just to name a few. Recent additions include:
- The Biological
Sciences/ Medical Research Building III
- A pedestrian bridge that spans 21st Avenue, connecting
the Peabody campus and Vanderbilt's central campus near the
Heard (Main) Library
- The Schulman
Center for Jewish Life
- A 564,000-square-foot
free-standing Children's Hospital
| The
University comprises 10 schools, a public policy institute,
a distinguished medical center and The Freedom Forum First Amendment
Center. Vanderbilt offers undergraduate programs in the liberal
arts and sciences, engineering, music, and education and human
development, as well as a full range of graduate and professional
degrees. |

"Today
I am going to give you two examinations, one in trigonometry and
one in honesty. I hope you will pass them both, but if you must
fail one, let it be trigonometry, for there are many good [people]
in this world today who cannot pass an examination in trigonometry,
but there are no good [people] in the world who cannot pass an examination
in honesty."
- Madison Sarratt (1891-1978), dean, Vanderbilt
University

Vanderbilt's
social and recreational resources are designed to be student friendly.
The Sarratt Student Center offers quiet spaces for study, a game room, an art gallery, and
photography and art studios.
