With
a history dating back to 1909, the School of Nursing has a tradition
of academic excellence and innovation in nursing education, clinical
research, patient care and advanced practice delivery systems.
The research conducted
at the School is interdisciplinary. They work with researchers in
nursing, medicine, business, engineering, anthropology, psychology,
education and public policy, to name a few.

Dedicated in 1998, Patricia Champion Frist Hall,
at left, is a state-of-the-art facility that houses faculty
offices, a new student lounge and several classrooms including a
large multimedia, interactive teaching center.
Frist Hall adjoins Godchaux Hall, above,
which was built in 1925 specifically for the School of Nursing.
Today, Godchaux Hall is home to the deans of the School of Nursing,
administrative offices, the Joint Center for Nursing Research and
numerous faculty offices.
In the Community:
The School is committed to providing nursing services to our surrounding
neighborhood communities. It operates several nurse-managed clinics
including the Nurse-Midwifery Clinic and Vine Hill Clinic.
