Vanderbilt
students tend to bond with Nashville as their temporary home town.
The city has become a national nexus for banking, insurance, publishing,
medicine, music and education. Its more than 1.3 million residents
-- including 43,000 students enrolled in the city's eight colleges
and universities -- appreciate such amenities as museums, restaurants
and parks.
Vanderbilt's
location, in fact, has become an increasingly valuable asset.
Downtown Nashville, only a mile and a half from campus, presents
options for course-related research and internships, recreation
and entertainment, and careers after graduation.
Combining
energy and courtesy, historic tradition and urban sophistication,
Nashville typifies the best of the New South.
