• Groundwater-surface water interactions, with specific focus on the temporal and spatial effects of anthropogenic landscape alteration and climate
• Geomorphology, with specific focus on the local and regional hydrological conditions in regulation of the mechanical behavior of landslides
• Probabilistic and statistical applications in hydrology
