Welcome to the Vanderbilt Institute of Chemical Biology. The VICB is a trans-institutional initiative between the College of Arts and Science and the School of Medicine. The Institute's mission is to provide research and training in the application of chemical approaches to the solution of important biomedical problems. The proximity of the Chemistry Department and the School of Medicine facilitates this process. Our members represent a range of research interests and technologies with particular strengths in analytical methodology and molecular imaging, cellular responses to chemical stress, drug discovery, enzyme and receptor chemistry, proteomics, structural biology, and chemical synthesis. Vanderbilt has a rich assortment of core facilities that provide access to techniques and equipment at the frontiers of biomedical research. The VICB operates the Monoclonal Antibody Core, the High-Throughput Screening Facility, the Chemical Synthesis Facility, and the Small Molecule NMR Facility. Links to other institutional core facilities are provided on the Core Facilities page. Please check out the Current News section on a regular basis. It provides up-to-date information about the accomplishments of VICB members, students, and postdoctorals. We hope you'll find our website interesting and informative. If you have any questions, please contact: sss don't hesitate to contact Anne Lara or Mary Veazey in the VICB office.
