Hiba Baroud was at the Society for Risk Analysis Annual Meeting held in Arlington, VA, http://www.sra.org/events/sra-2015-annual-meeting. She presented a poster on the prediction of global supply chain disruptions using Bayesian techniques and she was elected secretary/treasurer of the Engineering Infrastructure Specialty Group.
Of interest were topics related to considering risk analysis as its own field of science and the focus of research on its foundations. A round-table on risk and resilience identified research gaps in social resilience and risk communications.
