Visitor Parking

When visiting Vanderbilt, please do not park in non-University parking areas on the perimeter of campus. Please park in the Visitor spaces as designated in the Visitor Parking Map

Parking for visitors to the campus is limited, and designated spaces are few. Campus visitors, therefore, are encouraged to park in the following public parking areas.

  • Terrace Place Garage, spaces 41-92, 21st. Avenue & Terrace Place
  • Wesley Place Garage, spaces 52-170, 21st. Avenue & Scarritt Place
  • Meters in Lot 96 located in Zone 1; Lots 6B located in Zone 2; Lots 15 & Lot 21, & Lot 27 located in Zone 3
  • All meters along streets

A Vanderbilt permit is required to park in any space on campus, other than in the visitor spaces as described above.

A visitor with a state-issued handicap placard may park in any metered space on campus for free. If you have additional questions about parking for a special needs visitor, please contact our office at 322-2554.

Visiting Campus Residents

Guest permits are available on friday afternoon for persons visiting campus residents for the weekend. Parking for extended periods is available in the paid parking areas located around campus. Guest permits can be obtained from the parking office on Fridays after 2 p.m.

Medical Center Visitors

Visitors to the clinics, hospitals, and other Medical Center facilities may use the link Directions and Parking for Medical Center visitors to identify visitor parking areas. Medical parking questions should be directed to:

Meters

The Office of Traffic and Parking has installed meters in various locations around campus where a high rate of turnover for short-term parking is desired. As a courtesy to others, please observe the time limits on these meters. Meters will not register more than the time limit posted, even if additional coins are added. Meters are enforced Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. unless otherwised marked.

  • 2014-2015 Annual Permits

Permits will go on sale in August 2014. A letter will be sent in July for those qualified to purchase a permit.

Scooters and Motorcycles  A Permit is required for ALL vehicles parking on the Vanderbilt University Campus. Scooters and motorcycles are not allowed to operate on sidewalks, walkways or simular pathways. See Policy:  policy     map
