Richard Coble

Richard is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Princeton Theological Seminary.  Before coming to Vanderbilt, he worked as a middle and high school teacher, a youth minister, and a hospital chaplain.  In additition to his studies and work as a teaching fellow, Richard is currently the RPC area bibliographer for the divinity library and a pastoral counseling intern at the Pastoral Counseling Centers of Tennessee.  Richard’s research interests include the intersections of pastoral theology, theories of gender and sexuality, and psychoanalysis, especially as they pertain to memory, mourning, identity, and Christian funerals and other worship and grieving practices.
