Great Plays Produced by Vanderbilt People
For the Extended University Community and Our Neighbors

At Vanderbilt, creating theatre means learning about our world, ourselves, and the magical power of drama. Students learn what it means to be human in another time and place and what it means ultimately to share that vision with an audience through acting and design.

Audience members frequently report that they receive something of a continuing education of their own. VUT brings an invigorating theatrical mix to Nashville - including works by some of today's most celebrated playwrights, truly timeless classics, outstanding musicals, and touchstones of ancient drama.

Our patrons experience these performances in the uniquely stimulating atmosphere of Neely Auditorium, where there really isn't a bad seat in the house. There, they enjoy the passion and vitality of students and a program that have built a reputation for consistently producing demanding, meaningful, and entertaining theatre.

Patrons may come to explore their world or to get away, but they usually come again and again. We take pride in the chemistry we work to create between our performances and our audiences. And we are very grateful for the community's continuing enthusiastic support. We look forward to seeing you!

VUT also happily accepts gifts of furniture, potential props, and clothing. Donations are tax deductible, and donors often have the pleasure of seeing something they used to own playing a supporting role on stage. Please let us know if you think you have something with star potential taking up space in your closet or garage.
