Emerging Leaders Conference, part 2 - October 2011

This day together will offer us opportunities to strengthen our fellowship and continue our conversations on how to lead the church faithfully in this time of great uncertainty and change. Our focus will be guided by the historic questions John Wesley posed to his team of preachers: What shall we teach? and How shall we teach? We will consider the content of "teaching" in the broadest sense (i.e. more than simply doctrine) and ponder how the teaching of the Gospel is most effective in forming faithful disciples of Jesus Christ in this age of electronic networking.

Thursday evening will once again provide time for testimonies from several colleagues and a chance to talk together in small groups.

Friday, Dr. Doug Meeks will explore the relevance of the Wesleyan questions for our work today, and then Stephen Handy and Andrew Thompson will address the topic from their particular vantage point.

We will also spend some time on Friday discussing ways to strengthen our connections with support groups.
