Tau Beta Sigma National Honorary Band Sorority provides service to collegiate bands, encourages the advancement of women in the band profession, and promotes and enriches an appreciation of band music through recognition, leadership development, and education of its members.
Since 1987, the sisters of Eta Phi have upheld these goals in their service to the Spirit of Gold marching band. Our co-ed chapter is made up of more than 50 people from various different academic disciplines. Since the Spirit of Gold Marching band is open not only to Vanderbilt students, but also to other Nashville-area schools lacking marching band programs, our chapter is comprised of students from Vanderbilt University, Lipscomb University, Belmont University, and Nashville State Community College. The dedicated members of Eta Phi can be seen early and late at rehearsals, planning for various Band functions, and cheering the loudest to support our Commodores.
