Electronics Recycling Event a Huge Success

The Vanderbilt-sponsored Electronics Recycling Event filled 25 tractor trailers with electronics for recycling, with more than 1,000 people dropping off items during the community recycling event.

Brief Overview of Vanderbilt Student Activities Related to Sustainability

Students on our campus are increasingly aware of and interested in sustainability programs. The SPEAR group is the most visible and active undergraduate group on campus and has been instrumental in managing the recycling program over the years. Additionally, there are many graduate level environmentally-focused student groups that are working within their chosen field such as;

As further indication of Vanderbilt students' growing interest in sustainability, Vanderbilt hosted the 2006 COOL Idealist National Conference and will be host to the 2007 NetImpact national conference. Thus, there is a recent and growing movement among our student body to choose a school they consider environmentally and socially responsible AND to further that commitment once they are on campus.
