SHADE GROWN: An evening of environmental poetry, spoken word, songs, comedy and short performances.

Wednesday, April 18

5:00-7:00 pm

Commons Center Dining Hall

In celebration of Earth Day, the Sustainability and Environmental Management Office (SEMO), in partnership with Vanderbilt Dining Services and the Vanderbilt Institute for Coffee Studies, will host “Shade Grown”, a coffee house and open mic night at the Commons Center Dining Hall on Wednesday, April 18, 2012. Shade Grown will be an evening of creative performances on the theme of sustainability and the environment. The Vanderbilt community is encouraged to share poetry, spoken word, songs, comedy and short performances relating to sustainability and the environment or to just come and listen and enjoy the show! Free shade grown coffee and cake will be provided.

While advance notice of your intent to perform is not required, participants giving advance notice will be given priority. Contributors are encouraged to limit performances to 10 minutes or less. Consideration will be given to longer works; however, advanced notification is required.

For more information about Shade Grown or to sign up to share your creative work, please contact recycle@vanderbilt.edu or call E.ARTH (343.2784).
