Gear Rentals

As a service to the Vanderbilt community, the Outdoor Recreation program rents a variety of outdoor equipment to support our students, faculty, and staff in pursuing their own outdoor adventures. We maintain an inventory of diverse and quality equipment for your use and offer it at affordable rates!

Rental Procedure
To rent equipment, a Vanderbilt student or faculty/staff ID card must be presented. (Alumni may also rent, at slightly higher rates.) All rental fees must be paid at the time of the reservation or check out via cash, check,  or the VANDERBILT COMMODORE CARD. (Sorry, we cannot accept charge cards or debit cards.)

Late, Damaged, or Dirty Equipment Fees:
Additional fines will be assessed for late, damaged, lost, stolen or excessively dirty equipment. The renter takes full responsibility for the equipment signed out in his or her name. Late fees are the same amount as renting the gear for more days.

Reservation Policies and How To:
Equipment may be reserved up to 30 days in advance. No phone reservations are accepted. To place a reservation, renters must come in person to reserve and pay for the equipment in full. A reservation must be cancelled more than 42 hours in advance to receive a full refund and 18-42 hours in advance for a 50% refund. Cancellations made less than 18 hours in advance will receive no refund.

ORC HOURS:  Monday and Friday: 12 noon – 6 PM, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday:  3-6 PM.
