Baseball Glove Lounge

By popular demand and cultural norm,  the Baseball Glove Lounge has become the most popular quiet study space on campus.  Central to the hussle and bussle of Sarratt Student Center, the Baseball Glove Lounge daily is enveloped in an eerie silence that enhances the beautiful views of Alumni Lawn and makes for the perfect cozy study nook.

Since Sarratt openned its doors in 1974, the Baseball Glove Lounge has played host to its namesake–a replica of the  famous Joe Chair.  Italian designers de Pas, D’Urbino, Lomazzi created the Joe Chair (named for Joe DiMaggio) in 1970.  It gained fame when this modern piece of furniture was exhibited at MoMa in 1972.  So stop by and be part of Vanderbilt’s little piece of modern art history.
