Alcohol Policy

  1. Events with request to serve liquor or wine must be made at least 3 weeks in advance.
  2. Only liquor and wine are allowed, no beer is allowed.
  3. After the appropriate space has been reserved with Reservations & Events (R&E) or Student Center where the event is being requested, requests to serve alcohol must be submitted to the Director of Student Centers.
  4. If requests are approved the group may be required to attend the special event registration meeting.
  5. When wine and liquor is served, food, snacks and non-alcoholic beverages must be provided in sufficient variety and quantity and in a manner commensurate with the availability of alcoholic beverages.
  6. The serving of liquor and wine at events shall only be done by a licensed bartender. The Commons Center is exclusively VU Catering.
  7. Selling of liquor and wine is prohibited.
  8. No BYOB
  9. All events are required to follow Vanderbilt policy and state law.
