LEED Summary

LEED Certified Building

The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System, developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), has certified that the Commons Center meets a suite of standards for environmentally sustainable construction and awarded the Commons Center a Gold rating. The Gold rating made the Commons Center the first university building and only the second building in the state of TN to receive a Gold rating in 2008.

The Commons Center is a LEED certified building, which means it is a Green Building.

Dialogue with students over the past several years and the evolution of the LEED process inspired Vanderbilt to undertake LEED certification for new construction of The Ingram Commons.
