Health Insurance Requirements

Vanderbilt University requires that each student carry adequate health insurance. Koster Insurance is available for purchase for both graduate and undergraduate students in the event that it is needed. In many cases, a student will already have adequate coverage from a parent or a spouse's policy, and will need to complete the online waiver form indicating their other insurance information. If the online waiver process is not submitted, the student's account will be billed for the cost of the Koster Policy. It's very important that you know what type of coverage you have and have either a card or the insurance policy number available in the event that you need to use health care services outside of VUSHC.
