In addition to providing medical care for the acutely ill or injured patient, the following services are also available on-site at SHC:
- Routine physical exams are available for students who may require general physicals for employment or other reasons. These exams generally can be scheduled within one week.
- Chronic disease management is available to our students who have ongoing health needs while enrolled at Vanderbilt University. We are able to take care of a wide variety of health care problems, including asthma, hypertension, high cholesterol, and thyroid disease, among others. Internal Medicine and Family Medicine physicians are on staff at the SHC to manage the older adult students and those with chronic health care needs. We encourage all students living with a chronic illness to make an appointment with an SHC physician after arriving on campus, so that a relationship with a primary care provider can be established.
- Confidential HIV and STD testing is available by appointment for all students.
