PAYMENT OPTIONS

Option 1: Direct Payment

Pay tuition, fees, and all other charges directly to the University as stated on the bill you will receive prior to the beginning of each semester. Payment for the fall semester will be due by August 20, 2008. Payment for the spring semester will be due by January 5, 2009. In addition to traditional payment options, you may also pay electronically. You may use either a checking/savings account ($1 convenience fee) or credit card (2.65% convenience fee). MasterCard, Discover, and American Express are accepted.

Option 2: Tuition Stabilization Plan (TSP)

Avoid the impact of future tuition increases by choosing either of the Vanderbilt Tuition Stabilization Plan options:

  • TSP Prepayment Option - Administered by Vanderbilt University (VU)

  • Prepay up to four years of tuition at the current tuition rate
  • Payment must be made directly to VU by August 20, 2008
  • Call VU Student Accounts (1-800-288-1144) for additional information
  • TSP Installment Option - Administered by Sallie Mae

  • Finance prepayment with a 10 year, 7.0%(approx.) loan
  • $60.00 non-refundable application fee to Sallie Mae due by June 15
  • Credit check is required
  • First installment to Sallie Mae due by August 1, 2008
  • Call VU Student Accounts (1-800-288-1144) for additional information
  • Stabilizes tuition only (room, meals, and other fees can not be included).

Option 3: VANDY Plan available through Sallie Mae

Now is the time to re-enroll in the VANDY Plan (interest-free monthly payment option) for the 2007/08 academic year. Respond today and you can choose to spread your expenses over 10 interest-free monthly payments.

If you would like to pay your education expenses monthly, use the VANDY Plan (interest-free monthly payment option) offered by our partner, Sallie Mae. The payment plan is available for a small enrollment fee and includes personal account service, automated account information 24 hours a day, and access to your account through their web site. In addition to traditional methods of payment, we now offer the option to pay these monthly payments by credit card. Credit card payments will be charged a convenience fee (2-3%). The deadline to enroll in the Interest-Free Monthly Payment Option is July 15, 2008 (payments begin May 15th).

  • Ten equal monthly payments made directly to Sallie Mae
  • No finance or interest charge
  • $90.00 non-refundable enrollment fee to Sallie Mae
  • Sallie Mae accepts checks, money orders, e-checks, credit cards(3% fee), automatic bank drafts, automatic credit card payments (3% fee), payment by phone using e-check ($7.50 fee) or credit card (3% fee).
  • Sallie Mae offers automatic life insurance (at no extra cost)

Financial Aid

Some families may need more help in meeting their education expenses. For those needing additional assistance, please contact the Vanderbilt University Office of Student Financial Aid at 1-800-288-0204. Counselors have been specially trained to address your needs with various grants, loans (student or parent) and work programs.
