Volunteer Opportunities

Children’s Programs

Children's Church needs volunteers to help for 30 minutes during the 9:30 a.m. Sunday service - please email Clark Harwell to sign up.

Chlidren's Catechesis of the Good Shepherd needs volunteers to:

  • assist in the Atrium (Sunday mornings 11:00 -11:45 a.m.)
  • prepare materials for the Atrium-- (painting, woodworking, etc.; large and small projects - can be done at home)
  • bring flowers for Atrium on Sunday morning - need one person each week
  • call or email Ali Sevilla to sign up (322-4783)

Children's Christmas Play needs adult volunteers to help with rehearsal during Sunday school time, set design, and costumes (can be done at home).


Worship Service

Greeters: sort/stuff bulletins and welcome folks at Benton Chapel Sunday mornings (9:00 - 9:30 a.m.).
Audio: Run the sound board during the 9:30 a.m. service at Benton Chapel.
Readers and Chalice bearers: need 2-3 people each week
Volunteer coordinator: Organize lectors, chalice bearers and people to lead prayers of the people during the service each week
Altar guild: prepare the altar and sacraments each week
Wash linens: take linens home to wash and return the following week
Baking: Bake bread for Eucharist and bring to Benton on Sunday morning

Hospitality

Prepare dinner for ~20 folks before the 6:30 p.m. Wednesday evening Eucharist
Prepare dinner for ~30 students for the 6:15 p.m. Thursday Wesley/Canterbury gathering
Prepare finger foods for St. A's Coffee Hour, which follows the 9:30 a.m. Sunday service and takes place at the A-Frame. Make some light snacks and drop them off before church. No set-up or clean-up! This can be a one-time commitment or an on-going one. Please contact Caroline Logsdon or Marie Martin if you are interested.
Set up/clean up for special Sunday events - December 20th we’ll need extra help with fellowship.

A Frame - Building

Touch up painting and wall patching, as needed.
Organize closets - each semester we need help with this!

A Frame - Office

Answering the phone, especially Wednesdays and Fridays, 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Update the mailing list - 15 minutes per week (can be done from home)
Occasional stuffing and mailing - this happens once or twice per year
