Stephen MinistryStephen Ministry is a ministry of listening. Stephen Ministers are lay members of the congregation that faithfully visit, listen to, encourage and support those experiencing emotional and spiritual crisis, transition, or other difficulty. Stephen Ministers are called upon at times of death, dying, divorce, medical emergency, job loss, relocation, and in many other situations to insure that a person need not face difficulty alone. Stephen Ministers undergo training that hones their listening skills, Stephen Ministry is premised on the idea that people provide care for one another, and that God provides cures. St. Augustine's Chapel became a Stephen Ministry congregation in August 2006. If you would like to meet with a with trained caregiver for a one-on-one confidential relationship, contact Jane McLaughlin or Amy Lyles Wilson (522-1196).
