Our Mission

The mission of St. Augustine’s is to provide sanctuary, worship, sacrament, and service opportunities to the students, faculty and staff of Vanderbilt and to the wider Nashville community. By God’s grace, we fulfill this mission by strengthening one another as we live out our lives of faith based on the corporal acts of mercy.

Our model for ministry at St. Augustine’s is one of contemplative justice wherein thoughtful actions of justice arise from steadfast love of God reflected in individual prayers and common worship. We live out this model through regular worship, outreach to the Vanderbilt campus and from the campus to the wider community, and attention to study and learning.
