St. Augustine’s took our first Alternative
Spring Break trip to Ecuador in 1998 and opened a school named Escuela
Ann Stevens in the town of San Eduardo in 1999. Since then, we have financed
the operations of the school through sponsorships and have continued to make an annual trip
every spring to help with capital improvement projects and operation of a medical
clinic.
Medical Clinic Needs Our goal this year is to provide every family with a "medicine chest" containing the basics we take for granted. We need donations of hydrocortisone cream, antifungal creams, triple antibiotic ointment, and children's Tylenol (for 400 families). In addition, we are in dire need of birth control pills - any donation/leads to get donations are appreciated. Please bring the medicines to church on Sundays. For more information, visit the Escuela Ann Stevens wiki or contact Allen Karns.

Sponsor a child at Escuela Ann Stevens Resolve to sponsor a child at Escuela Ann Stevens for the 2009 calendar year! Your $25/month donation ($300/year) goes to pay the salary, retirement contribution, and health care benefits for the six full time teachers at Escuela Ann Stevens in San Eduardo, Ecuador. In addition, it helps purchase supplies for the school. The annual budget for Escuela Ann Stevens is $16,500, which means we need 55 - 60 sponsors to meet our commitment for 2009. If you would like to sponsor one or more children, please send an email to Melissa Wert or fill out a card at church and drop it in the offering bag. Checks are payable to "CCJ-Ecuador" with "sponsorship" written in the For: line. Thanks for your support.
