Memorial Maniacs

At Duke they have the Cameron Crazies, at Vanderbilt we have the Memorial Maniacs.  The Maniacs were once an exclusive group for selected VU basketball fans; they have recently expanded to include ALL student fans.  1000 Maniacs t-shirts were given away during the 2005-2006 season to students on a first-come-first-serve basis.  These shirts are worn to every home game.  Maniacs show up early to games clad in black and gold; they bring an enthusiastic, rejuvenating spirit to Memorial Gym.  The Maniacs are known to make Memorial one of the toughest places to play in the SEC; in addition to constantly cheering on our men’s and women’s teams throughout the game, they often get in the heads of our opponents.  Maniacs receive various spirit handouts throughout the season including pom-poms, wigs, foam hands, pennants, “Beat the Vols” shirts, and more!
