With funding from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and in collaboration with the Center for Health Policy at Meharry Medical College, the Department of Sociology at Vanderbilt University is recruiting a tenure-track Assistant Professor with expertise in health, illness, and medicine.
Applicants should submit a letter of interest, curriculum vitae, examples of recent scholarship, evidence of teaching effectiveness, and three letters of reference. Review of applications will begin on October 12, 2012. The search will continue until the position is filled and the appointment will begin fall 2013. Black and Hispanic scholars are especially encouraged to apply and the selected applicant would join a diverse intellectual community committed to research on health, illness, and medicine.
