Officers and Committee Members
Aladine is a biomedical engineering and mathematics major at Vanderbilt. In addition to serving as chair of the Senior Class Fund, he is also president of the Vanderbilt Interfaith Council and American Medical Student Association Premedical Chapter, as well as a VUceptor and an Honor Council member. With his senior gift, Aladine plans to support the Vanderbilt Interfaith Council. “VIC has been a huge part of my life at Vandy, and its mission is very important,” he says. Post-graduation, he is planning to attend medical school.
Student Relations Co-chair
Devin is majoring in computer engineering with a minor in engineering management. He is involved in many organizations on campus. Along with Senior Class Fund, he serves as president of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) and musical director of the Voices of Praise, while also undertaking the role of head resident. He is also a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. His senior gift will be given to the Cornelius Vanderbilt Scholarship program and many of the organizations mentioned. After graduation, he plans to either go to graduate school for a master’s in computer science or enter the workforce.
Shelby is pursuing a public policy major and math and economics minors. She is actively involved in Alpha Chi Omega, tutors for the Vanderbilt Athletic Department and volunteers with The After School Program (TAP). With her senior gift, Shelby plans to support both the Cornelius Vanderbilt Scholarship program, which brought her to Vanderbilt, as well as her sorority, which has been a constant source of support and opportunity throughout her years at Vanderbilt.
Libby is a political science and history major at Vanderbilt. In addition to serving as communications co-chair for the Senior Class Fund, she is also an Arts and Science College Scholar, a Chancellor’s Scholar, president of the Vanderbilt Political Review, a student VUceptor, chairperson of the outgoing Kickoff Cookoff, a Greek LEAD coordinator and a student finance committee co-chair. With her senior gift, Libby plans to support the Chancellor’s Scholarship program. “I want to provide others with the same opportunity that brought me to Vanderbilt,” she says. Post-graduation, she is considering graduate school and a career in international relations.
Student Relations Co-chair
Elizabeth is a mathematics and secondary education major from Birmingham, Ala. While serving as this year’s student relations co-chair of the Senior Class Fund, she also serves as the attorney general for Vanderbilt Student Government and vice president of chapter development for her sorority. Elizabeth plans to donate to Vanderbilt’s Best Buddies chapter with her senior gift, commenting, “I think Best Buddies is one of the best organizations on campus. My buddy Michelle inspires me every time we are together.” After graduation, Elizabeth plans to teach math at a high school in Nashville or Birmingham.
Katie is a human and organizational development major and corporate strategy minor. She has played an active role on campus as captain of the Dance Team, vice president of the Athenian Honor Society, and as a front desk assistant for the Office of Housing and Residential Education. With her senior gift, Katie plans to give back to the Dance Team because all of her favorite memories of Vanderbilt are a result of her involvement with the team. Katie plans to seek a career in human resources upon graduation.
