FAQ

What is the Senior Class Fund?

The Senior Class Fund is a tribute from the Class of 2013—a gift from seniors to Vanderbilt. And it’s a very personal gift, because you can direct your support to any school, program or organization that mattered to you during your time at Vanderbilt.

Why should I give?

Your Vanderbilt tuition only pays for about 70 percent of the cost of an undergraduate education. The remaining amount comes from gifts made by alumni, parents and friends. The gifts we make as seniors this year—and as alumni in the years to come—help make it possible for future students to enjoy the great Vanderbilt experiences we’ve had.

What if I can only give a little?

That’s OK. Every gift counts. It’s your participation that matters most. Collectively, lots of smaller gifts add up to make a big impact. By participating, you also help Vanderbilt in the rankings—alumni giving participation factors into the U.S. News & World Report rankings. Your gift, in any amount, adds to the value of your degree.

How much should I give?

We encourage you to make a gift that is meaningful to you. A gift of $13 or $20.13 is one way to commemorate your graduation.

Where does my gift go?

Your gift goes wherever you’d like. You can designate your gift to any area of Vanderbilt that has been meaningful to you, such as:

  • your college
  • your department
  • the library
  • athletics (the National Commodore Club)
  • your favorite student organization
  • your fraternity or sorority

How do I make a gift?

You can make your gift online or by calling Mary Beth Ballard at (615) 322-2174.  For questions, e-mail seniorclassfund@vanderbilt.edu.
