Claire SmrekarAssociate Professor of Public Policy and Education
Vanderbilt University

Claire E. Smrekar is associate professor of public policy and education in the Department of Leadership, Policy, and Organizations at Vanderbilt University. Her research interests concern the social context of education and the social organization of schools, with specific reference to family-school-community interactions in public, military-sponsored, non-public, and choice schools. Professor Smrekar is presently researching the influence of work structures, social networks, and neighborhoods on family-school-community relationships, as well as desegregation, housing and neighborhood capacity, and school choice.
