Preparing skilled leaders for our nation’s schools of choice is a topic that merits sustained attention. School choice is a growing trend in the American education system, and the demand for alternative education services for students has increased. However, training leaders for charter and independent schools has not kept pace with the demand.
Accordingly, the National Center on School Choice is hosting, with Vanderbilt University’s Peabody Professional Institutes (PPI), intensive, one-week experiences for individuals and teams who lead and manage charter and independent schools. Each institute draws from social science disciplines and professional fields of study to create a comprehensive, yet focused curriculum. Designed with the same expectations for rigor and depth as Peabody College degree programs, our institutes rest on the philosophy that good practice is built on a strong theoretical base. Participants will enhance their ability to make choices for their schools grounded in theory and supported by data.
