  • Courtney Preston

  • Courtney Preston is a doctoral student in the Department of Leadership, Policy, and Organizations at Vanderbilt University. She is a fellow in the Experimental Education Research Training program (ExpERT). Ms. Preston holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Bachelor of Arts in Greek and Latin from Florida State University, as well as a Master of Education in English Education from Georgia State University. A Teach For America alumna, Ms. Preston taught for seven years in Atlanta Public Schools prior to her doctoral studies. Her research interests include teacher quality, specifically teacher training and recruitment and retention as well as the effectiveness of teacher preparation programs.

The NCSC is funded by a 5 year, $13.3 million grant from the U.S. Department of Education's Institute of Education Sciences. Its lead institution is Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. The center is housed on the campus of Peabody College, one of the nation's top graduate schools of education.
