    Timothy Caboni is assistant dean of Vanderbilt University’s Peabody College of Education and holds a faculty appointment in the Higher Education Leadership and Policy Program. He serves as director of Vanderbilt’s Institutional Advancement program. Additionally, he chairs the Peabody Professional Institutes (PPI), which provides short-term, intensive educational experiences for professional educators and administrators from across the nation and around the world. Professor Caboni’s research is theoretically grounded in both sociology and communication theory, and focuses on social control and stratification within higher education, and the relationships between postsecondary institutions and their external publics.

The NCSC is funded by a 5 year, $13.3 million grant from the U.S. Department of Education's Institute of Education Sciences. Its lead institution is Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. The center is housed on the campus of Peabody College, one of the nation's top graduate schools of education.
