Anna Nicotera is a pre-doctoral fellow in the Experimental Education Research Training (ExpERT) program funded by the United States Department of Education’s Institute of Education Sciences (IES) and a research assistant at the National Center on School Choice. She received her bachelor of arts degree in political science from the University of Chicago and is working towards a doctor of philosophy in education policy and research methods from the Department of Leadership, Policy, and Organization at Vanderbilt University. Ms. Nicotera’s research has focused on conducting program evaluations of whole school reform models and professional development initiatives in urban school districts. She is coauthor with Kenneth Wong of Successful Schools and Education Accountability: Concepts and Skills to Meet 21st Century Education Leadership Challenges (2006). Her research interests include the theories, policies, and practices of educational accountability, as well as the interactions between student mobility and peer effects on student achievement.
