Maria Mendiburo is a doctoral student in the Department of Leadership, Policy, and Organizations at Vanderbilt University. She serves as a fellow in the Experimental Education Research Training (ExpERT) program funded by the United States Department of Education of Education’s Institute of Education Sciences (IES). Ms. Mendiburo received her bachelor of arts degree in public policy from Duke University and her master’s in curriculum and teacher education from Stanford University. Prior to beginning her graduate studies, she worked in event operations for the 2003 Orange Bowl Festival and for the 2003 Super Bowl and Pro Bowl. She also spent a year teaching high school mathematics in Maui, Hawaii. Her research interests include schools of choice and applied statistics.
