John CroninDirector
Kingsbury Center for Research on Academic Growth
Northwest Evaluation Association

John Cronin is the director of the Kingsbury Center for Research on Academic Growth at the Northwest Evaluation Association. Dr. Cronin conducts research involving two major strands. One focuses on educational policy issues related to state standards and implementation of the No Child Left Behind Act. These include large scale studies exploring differences in the difficulty of standards among states, a study of the effect that NCLB implementation has had on student growth, and a study of NCLB’s effect on the achievement gap. The other strand examines the use of technologies to reliably identify student test scores that may be invalidated due to low student motivation or poor testing conditions.
